NHL Broadcaster Ray Ferraro’s Coffee Goes Flying at Ice Level During Canucks-Penguins Game (Video)

Apparently, the commentator’s box at rink level in Vancouver is not equipped with cup holders.

That lack of beverage security almost led to a very messy — and likely painful — situation for TSN broadcaster Ray Ferraro.

Ferraro was positioned between the benches Tuesday night when a check by Vancouver Canucks forward Benn Ferriero on Pittsburgh Penguins defenseman Olli Maatta brought the game action right to his doorstep. Ferriero’s stick sliced into the booth as he completed his check, and the blade sent Ferraro’s cup of coffee spiraling through the air.

Luckily for the former NHLer, the lid remained on the cup until it hit the floor, leaving him coffee-less but unstained.
