Macklemore, Pete CarrollSeattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll was happy to see his famous friend Macklemore win four Grammys on Sunday night.

Carroll was asked about Macklemore’s multiple victories during his Super Bowl XLVIII press conference in between questions about the Seahawks’ matchup with the Denver Broncos. Carroll’s opinion about Macklemore’s Grammy wins was not a popular one — Twitter users were aghast when Macklemore won over fellow rapper Kendrick Lamar.

Carroll also called Macklemore “arguably the best performer in the world.” The Seattle-based rapper has developed a deep connection with the Seahawks this season. He was on the sidelines at CenturyLink Field in Seattle when Richard Sherman famously knocked San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick’s pass at the end of the NFC Championship Game and he was also in the locker room after the Seahawks’ win.
