Boston Bruins winger Reilly Smith has surprised everybody since coming over in last summer’s blockbuster deal that sent Tyler Seguin to the Dallas Stars.
Thought by many — but not Bruins general manager Peter Chiarelli — to be a mere throw-in in a trade headlined by Loui Eriksson, Smith has exceeded all expectations during his brief career in black and gold. The 22-year-old ranks second on the team in goals (15), assists (21) and points (36), and he’s tallied a point in each of his last four games.
