Avery BradleyJust as the Boston Celtics return Rajon Rondo to the fold, they’ll now be forced to go on without Avery Bradley.

Bradley, who injured his right ankle during the Celtics’ 93-86 loss to the Miami Heat on Tuesday, will miss the next “couple of weeks,” according to The Boston Globe’s Gary Washburn.

Celtics coach Brad Stevens speculated after Tuesday’s game that Bradley would not suit up for Wednesday night’s matchup against the Washington Wizards.

“I don’t know,” Stevens said, via the Globe. “It looks like he got it pretty good. It didn’t seem like he was walking great. If I had to guess, personally, I would say no, but it would be a guess.”

The layoff also will give Bradley time to rest his sore right hand, which he injured in a win over the Toronto Raptors last week. The fourth-year point guard is averaging 14.5 points and 4.1 rebounds per game this season.

Bradley is the second Celtics guard to go down since Rondo returned to the lineup last Friday. Jerryd Bayless, whom the Celtics acquired from the Memphis Grizzlies on Jan. 7, exited Sunday’s game against the Orlando Magic with a sprained toe and did not suit up against the Heat. He is expected to miss seven to 10 days.

With Rondo and rookie Phil Pressey as their only healthy backcourt players, the Celtics signed D-League guard Vander Blue to a 10-day contract on Wednesday.
