Richard ShermanDon’t expect Seattle Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman to lash out against Denver Broncos wide receiver Demaryius Thomas after the Super Bowl.

Sherman is giving Thomas a lot more respect than he ever afforded San Francisco 49ers wideout Michael Crabtree. According to Sherman, Thomas is already a top five wide receiver.

“I definitely think he’s in the top five,” Sherman said after arriving in New Jersey for the Super Bowl on Sunday. “He’s put together a heck of a year and done everything in his power to put himself in that conversation. He’s made the big catches. He’s made a lot of runs after the catch and turned small plays into huge plays. I think that he’s a great receiver, and he’s a great competitor. It’s going to be a fun matchup between both of us, because we’re both intense competitors and good friends.”

Thomas had 92 receptions for 1,430 yards and 14 touchdowns this season. He had seven catches for 134 yards and a touchdown in the Broncos’ AFC Championship win over the New England Patriots.
