Sabres Defenseman Tyler Myers Suspended Three Games by NHL for Illegal Hit to Head (Video)

Buffalo Sabres defenseman Tyler Myers was suspended for three games without pay for his hit to the head of New Jersey Devils forward Dainius Zubrus, the NHL announced Monday.

During the third period of Saturday night’s game, the 6-foot-8 defenseman appeared to leave the ice as he launched himself into Zubrus along the boards, connecting with his head. Zubrus remained in the game after the check and did not suffer an injury on the play.

Myers was assessed a minor penalty on the play.
