New Orleans Saints punter Thomas Morstead discovered during Saturday’s divisional playoff game against the Seattle Seahawks that his hand warmer actually is multifunctional.
With wind and heavy rain making things tricky for both squads at CenturyLink Field, Morstead had some trouble handling the snap during the first punt of the game. The ball slipped right through his hands and hit him in the groin — where his hand warmer was conveniently situated — before Morstead was able to recover and get a kick off.
The shaky play didn’t get any better once he punted, however, as Morstead’s kick went just 16 yards and gave the Seahawks great field position in the process.
