The next Special Olympics USA Games will take place June 14-21, 2014, in Princeton, N.J., but members of the Massachusetts community can support the athletes as soon as today.

Special Olympics Massachusetts provides year-round sports training, athletic competition and other health-related programming for athletes with intellectual disabilities throughout the state. The biggest single-day fundraising event of the year is The Polar Plunge on Feb. 22 at Nantasket Beach in Hull, Mass., and Revere Beach in Revere, Mass., and it welcomes supporters to take a dip (or stay dry and sponsor a plunger) in the icy Atlantic Ocean.

Check out a promotional video Special Olympics Massachusetts put together that features Eunice Kennedy Shriver‘s famous speech from 1968 at Chicago’s Soldier Field below.

“Let me win. But if I cannot win, let be brave in the attempt,” is now the official Special Olympics oath.
