Tim Thomas Left Looking Like Turtle on Its Shell After Allowing Goal to Michael Ryder (Video)

The Tim Thomas style of goaltending is never boring and always adventurous. That was on display yet again Saturday night.

The Florida Panthers goalie was left flopping all over the ice during a game with the New Jersey Devils. The veteran goalie lost track of the puck behind the Florida net as the Devils worked behind the cage. Forward Ryane Clowe outworked a Florida defenseman to gain possession at the goal line and quickly tapped a backhanded pass to the slot, where Michael Ryder was waiting. Ryder quickly one-timed it by Thomas for the goal.

That’s where things got interesting, though. Thomas’ last-ditch effort to make the save left him spinning through the crease, and the former Bruins netminder was left looking like a turtle on its shell.
