Tom Brady has enjoyed unprecedented success in his NFL career, and his legend just continues to grow.
Statistically speaking, Brady wasn’t a major factor in Saturday night’s divisional-round win, but the New England Patriots still clinched a spot in their 11th — and third consecutive — AFC Championship Game. The quarterback has led the Patriots to eight of those games, and while he personally hasn’t been stellar in the previous seven, his team is 5-2.
Brady has completed 60.9 percent of his passes in seven AFC title games, compared to 62.1 percent in all playoff games. He’s thrown just seven touchdown passes and rushed for one score, and he has been picked off nine times and posted a 74.7 passer rating.
After squaring off with the Baltimore Ravens in the previous two AFC title games, the Patriots this time will face a strong Denver team, which they eliminated from the playoffs in 2011 when Tim Tebow, not future Hall of Famer Peyton Manning, was the Broncos’ quarterback. So with Brady heading to his eighth AFC Championship Game in his 12 seasons (not counting 2008) as a full-time starter, it’s the perfect time to look back at each appearance.
