Illness Officially Kept Tom Brady Out Of New England Patriots Practice

Tom BradyFOXBORO, Mass. — As suspected, New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady missed practice Wednesday because of an illness.

Brady, who’s also listed with a right shoulder injury, has four days to get better before the Patriots play the Denver Broncos in the AFC Championship Game. Ryan Mallett took every snap for the Patriots at practice Wednesday, playing as both Brady and Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning. Mallett said he threw in a few “Omahas,” the now-famous call that Manning yells during his presnap process.

Safeties Devin McCourty (concussion) and Steve Gregory (finger/knee) and offensive tackle Will Svitek (ankle) were removed from the injury report.
