Tom Glavine’s Wife Captures Pitcher’s ‘Stoic’ Reaction to Hall of Fame Induction Call (Photo)

Don’t look so thrilled, Tom.

Tom Glavine joined Greg Maddux and Frank Thomas in being elected to the National Baseball Hall of Fame on Wednesday. But while Glavine’s Hall of Fame nod obviously was exciting news, the pitcher’s reaction painted a different picture.

Glavine’s wife, Christine, captured the pitcher’s reaction to his Hall of Fame call. She then shared the photo on Twitter, allowing us all to see the mild-mannered hurler’s “stoic” response. Glavine had the same look that he often displayed on the mound during his illustrious 22-year career.

Don’t worry, though. Glavine, a native of Billerica, Mass., used his personal Twitter account to tell the world how he really felt. The 10-time All-Star described himself as “humbled.”
