Things tend to get a little fishy whenever the University of New Hampshire takes the ice at the Whittemore Center.

In a tradition that dates back to the 1970s, the first UNH goal of every home game is followed by the tossing of a large fish over the glass and onto the ice.

But the fish does not simply appear at the arena each night. NESN’s Jamison Coyle went behind the scenes to see what preparation goes into “throwing the fish.”
