Alexander Ovechkin is feeling patriotic in Sochi as his Russian hockey team prepares to bring home the gold medal the host nation covets the most.

He’s using a special pair of skates at the Winter Olympics, one that features the red, white and blue stripes of Russia’s flag and his signature gold laces.

The Washington Capitals winger is under immense pressure to play at an elite level and win gold in front of his home fans, so it’s good to see he’s having some fun and feeling relaxed before the competition commences.
