drew doughty canadaThe last day of the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi has arrived, and the marquee event of the competition highlights the Day 16 schedule.

The men’s ice hockey gold medal game will be played at Bolshoy Ice Dome where Canada and Sweden will compete for an Olympic title. The Canadians are the defending champions after winning on home soil four years ago in Vancouver, but they haven’t won gold in this event at an Olympics hosted outside of North America since 1952. Sweden won the last Olympic hockey tournament held outside North America when it defeated Finland in Torino eight years ago. Both teams enter the final with unbeaten records and loads of talent at every position, so there’s a strong chance we witness a classic.

Aside from men’s ice hockey, cross-country and bobsleigh are the only other events on Sunday’s schedule.
