911trutherThe man who interrupted a Super Bowl postgame press conference to say that the terror attacks on 9/11 were “perpetrated by our own government” was arrested and charged with trespassing after the outburst.

Matthew Mills says he made his way into the press area at MetLife Stadium by telling layers of security guards that he was “running late for work” and had to get inside, Mills told NJ.com. Mills, 30, an independent journalist from Brooklyn, said he hopped on an employee shuttle bus when he saw it parked at Secaucus Junction and hitched a ride to the stadium. The only credential Mills had to show security guards was an old credential from a festival he once covered.

Mills said he got through security — which was supposed to verify each credential or ticket with a bar code — by telling the guards he was running late and “had to get in there.”

“I didn’t think that I’d get that far,” Mill said. “I just kept getting closer and closer. Once I got past the final gate and into the stadium, I was dumbfounded.”

After the game ended, Mills walked to the media tent where players and coaches were brought for interviews.

“I just saw my opportunity to get my word out there and I took it,” Mills said.

After spouting off his conspiracy theory into Super Bowl XLVIII MVP Malcolm Smith’s microphone, Mills quickly was ushered off the podium by a public relations representative and eventually was arrested.
