Bobby Valentine is a fan of Jacoby Ellsbury.

The former Boston Red Sox manager showed some love for the New York Yankees’ new center fielder on Thursday, calling the longtime Sox leadoff hitter “one of the best.” Ellsbury played just 74 games for Valentine’s Red Sox in 2012 due to a shoulder injury.

Ellsbury kicked off his Yankees career on Wednesday by reaching base in all three at-bats and scoring two runs.
