Brandon BassTrade rumors about Boston Celtics power forward Brandon Bass are flying around for the second time this season, following a December discussion that almost sent Bass to the Houston Rockets.

With the Feb. 20 NBA trade deadline rapidly approaching, many Celtics players are attracting other teams’ interest. Bass is no different. The Charlotte Bobcats, Golden State Warriors and Phoenix Suns all are in the mix to acquire the ninth-year forward, Sean Deveney of the Sporting News reports.

“He is a good fit in a lot of places,” an unnamed league executive told Deveney. “He can start, he can come off the bench, he can make shots, he can play center against small lineups. A lot of teams need a guy like that.”

Bass signed a three-year, $20 million contract with the Celtics in 2012, with a salary of $6.5 million for 2014.

Deveney writes that Bass’s talent and flexible contract “makes him the most likely Celtic to be shipped out by next Thursday.” Bass is averaging 10.8 points and 5.8 rebounds per game, having appeared in all 52 games for the Celtics this season.
