Bristol County Sheriff Tom Hodgson confirmed Tuesday night that former New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez was involved in a jailhouse altercation and could face additional criminal charges stemming from the incident.

Bob Ward of FOX 25 Boston reports that the fight between Hernandez and another inmate occurred Tuesday morning or early afternoon, and that neither person suffered any significant injuries.
The altercation happened at the Bristol County House of Correction, where Hernandez is being held without bail awaiting trial for the murder of Odin Lloyd. He’s been jailed since late June of 2013.
