David Ortiz needs some help from Red Sox Nation.

Ortiz is squaring off with New York Yankees shortstop Derek Jeter as part of MLB.com’s “Face of MLB” tournament. Jeter held a commanding lead as of Monday afternoon, but Red Sox fans have until 8 a.m. ET on Tuesday to vote Ortiz into the next round.

Ortiz recently was voted the “Face of the Red Sox” via a Twitter vote. Each Major League Baseball club is represented by one player, and Jeter is Ortiz’s first-round opponent. The winner of the Ortiz-Jeter matchup will face the winner of the Jose Bautista-Freddie Freeman matchup.

Fans can vote for Ortiz in his matchup with Jeter by using the hashtag #DavidOrtiz and the hashtag #FaceOfMLB. Both hashtags must be used in tweets to count as an official vote, and there is a 25-vote maximum per Twitter account. (In other words, hop on Twitter and vote 25 times for Ortiz.)
