Flames’ Jiri Hudler Crashes Lakers Shootaround In Full Pads (Video)

The Los Angeles Lakers and Calgary Flames both were in Philadelphia on Friday, with the Lakers taking on the 76ers that night, and the Flames playing the Flyers the following day.

The two teams united in an unconventional way in the afternoon when Flames winger Jiri Hudler decided to join the Lakers’ shootaround. And he happened to be in full pads.

Flyers writer Sarah Baicker explained why Hudler was decked out in full hockey gear to Enrico Campitelli Jr.

“When NHL teams arrive in Philly early and the ice isn’t down at the Center, they practice at the rink at UPenn. But it’s a very old and crappy rink. So the players dress in the NHL visitors locker room at the Wells Fargo Center, except for their skates. Then take a bus to and from Penn.”

Any aspirations Hudler might have had to be a multi-sport star suffered a serious setback thanks to his apparent struggles on the basketball court. Watch him battle to even hit rim in the hilarious video below.
