Brad Stevens and Gerald Wallace both got to make an early exit on Saturday, when they got tossed in a mad flurry of technical fouls late in a defeat to the Sacramento Kings.
Still, the Boston Celtics coach and most senior player appeared to keep their cool, for the most part, throughout. Neither Stevens nor Wallace ever grew as animated as Kings center DeMarcus Cousins, who tiptoed the line of ejection a number of times. Afterward, Wallace even managed some dry humor over getting tossed.

Wallace, who was more visibly upset with the officiating during the game than Stevens was, offered his assessment of his own ejection.

So, there you go. That’s probably far from the full story, but it’s what we have. Given Stevens’ reluctance to expand on the first early exit of his career, that’s probably the version we’re going to have to go with.
At the very least, however, Celtics fans have another item to add to the list of reasons they don’t like Davis. It’s almost like he was put here to keep everyone in Boston on their toes.
