American skier Gus Kenworthy isn’t the only Olympic athlete who wants to take a few furry friends home with him from the 2014 Winter Olympics.
Kenworthy gained some fans back in the United States when he decided to adopt a family of stray dogs he discovered in Sochi, but getting his puppies back home to Colorado has given the 22-year-old some trouble. After winning silver in the slopestyle skiing event, Kenworthy was slated to return home on Monday. His plans have been derailed somewhat, though, and he has decided to push back his trip in order to complete the necessary paperwork to bring his adorable pups home, 7 News in Denver reports.
In addition to attracting Miley Cyrus’ attention with his decision, Kenworthy also inspired some fellow athletes to take home the cutest souvenirs Sochi has to offer. U.S. Olympic hockey player David Backes reached out to Kenworthy to get some more information on the adoption process, while American snowboarder Lindsey Jacobellis tweeted a picture of a Sochi stray that is going home with her.
