Italian Soccer Player’s Slide Tackle Becomes Goal From 70 Yards Out (Video)

It’s hard to imagine how Domenico Zampaglione will ever score a more spectacular goal than this one.

Zampaglione, a soccer player for Italian fourth-division club Vigor Lamezia, scored the game-winner against Tuttocuoio 1957 back on Feb. 9, and he didn’t even mean to.

Zampaglione made a slide tackle deep inside his own half. The laws of physics did the rest.

The opponent’s shot caromed off Zampaglione’s foot just as a wind gust carried it toward the Tuttocuoio goal — around 70-75 yards away.

The ball went over the awestruck goalkeeper and into the goal. Vigor Lamezia won the game 1-0 thanks to Zampaglione’s feat.

Camera trick, you say? No way. This one’s legit.
