Two champions converged Wednesday, as World Series winner Jonny Gomes met Westminster Dog Show winner Sky.

Gomes and Sky posed for a photo together shortly before the Boston Red Sox outfielder had his beard shaved off on national television.

Gomes, whose Red Sox won the 2013 World Series, has teamed up with the Travis Roy Foundation, and his fresh shave netted the charity a $10,000 donation from Norelco. Gomes’ new look also serves as a reminder that the Red Sox are turning the page on last season before officially kicking off spring training.

Sky, a 5-year-old wire fox terrier, won best in show at the Westminster Kennel Club on Tuesday. She was ranked the nation’s No. 1 dog this year, and the ribbon marks her 129th best in show ribbon overall.
