Mark Teixeira Seemingly Trolls Denver Broncos Fans With Sarcastic Tweet

Mark TeixeiraNew York Yankees first baseman Mark Teixeira might have had plans Sunday night that prevented him from watching Super Bowl XLVIII. Or he saw the Seattle Seahawks’ lopsided victory over the Denver Broncos as an opportunity for sarcasm.

Teixeira sent out a tweet shortly before 11 p.m. Sunday, asking his followers not to tell him who won the Super Bowl because he recorded it and was looking forward to watching what he expected to be a “very close game.” Of course, the game never was in doubt, as the Seahawks cruised to a 43-8 win.

Maybe Teixeira really did record the Super Bowl in hopes of a pleasurable viewing experience later on. But that seems unlikely given that everyone and their grandmother knows to stay off Twitter when trying to avoid spoilers.

In any event, Teixeira’s “request” was denied, as the first respondent informed the Yankees slugger that the Seahawks won.
