Two weeks of United States patriotism is almost upon us, with the opening ceremonies for the Winter Olympics just week away. Team USA hockey goalie Molly Schaus is bringing the American pride early with her Olympic goalie mask.

Taking a cue from U.S. men’s goalie Ryan Miller, Schaus unveiled her mask for the 2014 Winter Games, and it’s about as American as they come. Schaus is one of three goaltenders on Team USA vying for the starting spot in Sochi, and the netminder’s cage celebrates U.S. hockey history along with the official coat of arms of the United States.

The right side of Schaus’ mask showcases the diagonal lettering featured on the 1960 U.S. men’s Olympic hockey team — the first team to win a goal medal for the United States in hockey. The left side shows the official U.S. coat of arms as it appears on the Great Seal of the United States. The shield in the center is replaced by the current Team USA logo.
