The Timberlane Regional High School boys basketball team walked into their Friday matchup against Keene with an 0-17 record on the season. It was the last game of the season and the Plaistow, N.H., squad was about to wrap up their fourth winless season, but then something miraculous happened — they won.

The Timberlane Owls beat the Keene Blackbirds in a 71-56 win. It was their first win since January 2010. Had the team lost five more games, it would have tied the all-time national record set by Mifflinburg Area High School in Pennsylvania in 1976.

After 81 games of defeat, Timberlane finally got the W. Here’s to hoping their losing streak is dead and gone.
