Olympic Hockey: Team USA ‘Embarrassed’ After Ugly Loss To Finland In Bronze Medal Game

Patrick KaneTeam USA knew it couldn’t win gold after its loss to Canada in the semifinals at the 2014 Winter Olympics. The Americans were hoping they could at least get out of Sochi with a bronze medal. Instead, they’ll return to America with nothing.

The U.S. was flat-out torn apart on Sunday in the bronze medal game, as Finland rolled to a 5-0 win over the seemingly hapless Americans. After looking like the tournament’s best team through preliminary round play, the U.S. crumbled once it reached the most important games. That started with a 1-0 loss to Canada on Friday and then failing to show up for the bronze medal game on Saturday.

The Americans were unsurprisingly upset with their effort following the loss to the Finns. Here’s a collection of what they had to say following the blowout loss to Finland.
