Bill BelichickBill Belichick had the media in stitches Tuesday morning.

The New England Patriots head coach threw a splash of humor into his meeting with reporters during the AFC coaches’ breakfast at the NFL Annual Meeting in Orlando, Fla.

The Patriots have proposed that the NFL use fixed replay cameras on the boundary lines, and Belichick gave some ideas about where the league could get the money for the new gear.

“We just spent, whatever it was, how many millions of dollars on the replay system,” Belichick said. “I mean, there’s a thousand cameras in every stadium, so that if somebody spills a beer on somebody, we have it on record, right? Maybe we could have a bake sale. Raise some money for the cameras. Do a car wash.”

The Patriots expect to find out if their proposal for extra cameras passes Wednesday.
