The Boston Bruins’ 12-game win streak came to an end Monday night with a 2-1 shootout loss to the Montreal Canadiens.

Boston’s impressive run is over, but with the one point the Bruins earned on the night, the Black and Gold actually moved ahead of the Western Conference-leading St. Louis Blues for the most points in the NHL with 104.

The Bruins trailed for two-plus periods before Patrice Bergeron deflected Dougie Hamilton’s slap shot from the blue line to record his 23rd goal of the season. The B’s dominated in overtime, but they failed to get on the board, and Alex Galchenyuk finally ended things with the game-winner in the fourth round of the shootout.
