Although the 2014 FIFA World Cup doesn’t kick off for another few months, blue-chip advertisers already are raising their games.
Budweiser released a new World Cup commercial Monday that tells viewers around the world to “Rise as One.”
“Every four years there is a beautiful moment when the world forgets its differences and unites in its love of the beautiful game,” Budweiser’s description reads. “A moment so powerful, the air buzzes with energy, and millions will come together to hope, believe and rise as one.”
As an official sponsor of the 2014 World Cup, Budweiser will be visible throughout the monthlong tournament. But other companies also will produce their best commercials at the same time — much like in America on Super Bowl Sunday — and some ads will be lost in the fray.
The new ad doesn’t feature soccer stars and other famous faces. Instead, it portrays how everyday people might experience this summer’s tournament. Like the upcoming World Cup itself, much of the Budweiser spot is set in Brazil.
The 2014 World Cup kicks off July 12 when Brazil meets Croatia.
