Canadiens head coach Michel Therrien told reporters Tuesday that goalie Carey Price practiced but will not be ready to play against the Bruins.
Price has been on injured reserve since Feb. 26 with a lower body injury, and he hasn’t played since leading Team Canada to a gold medal at the Winter Olympics in Sochi. Price started Dec. 5 against the Bruins and allowed only one goal in a 2-1 Montreal win.
Peter Budaj, who might face the Bruins, beat Boston on Jan. 30 with a 34-save effort and has six starts since the Olympics in place of Price. Budaj has enjoyed success in six career games against the Bruins, sporting a 4-1-0 record with a .919 save percentage and a 2.35 goals against average.
However, Budaj has lost his last three starts, so Dustin Tokarski could start instead. Therien said that decision would be made Wednesday.
