The Boston Celtics announced Tuesday that they have re-signed guard Chris Babb to a second 10-day contract.

Babb, an undrafted rookie out of Iowa State, was offered the deal after Sunday’s 118-111 win over the Detroit Pistons.

“Yeah, sure, why not?” Babb said after the game. “I’ll stick around a few more days.”

Babb has appeared in four games for the Celtics this season, averaging 3.3 points and 1.8 rebounds in 13.1 minutes per night. He has spent the bulk of the year with the Maine Red Claws, Boston’s D-League affiliate, for whom he averaged 12.0 points, 6.2 rebounds and 3.4 assists in 33 games.

The Celtics, winners of three of their last five, visit the Eastern Conference-leading Indiana Pacers on Tuesday.
