There’s a new vibe around the Colorado Avalanche this season.

Under the leadership of first-year head coach Patrick Roy, the team has gone from last place in the Western Conference a year ago to one of the top teams in the Central Division in 2013-14.

Some of the Avalanche players, including captain Gabriel Landeskog and top Calder Trophy candidate Nathan MacKinnon, recently made their own music video to the popular song “Radioactive” by alternative rock band Imagine Dragons. The players — who lip-synced the vocals — put a lot of effort into it, and that should be applauded. But let’s just hope none of them pursue a musical career after their NHL days are over.
