Baseball fans who think shelling out $9 for a beer at the ballpark is crazy probably won’t want to hear about a hot dog that costs even more than that.
The Arizona Diamondbacks are upping the ante in the ballpark hot dog game with an 18-inch corn dog creation that will sell at Chase Field this season for $25, according to ESPN’s Darren Rovell. The D-Bat Dog is stuffed with cheddar cheese, jalapenos and bacon, and served with a side of fries.
“This is really about providing our fans with new options each year, and in the case of some of our larger items, it’s really about sharing with the family,” team president and CEO Derrick Hall said.
For those looking for a less expensive ballpark hot dog experience, the Diamondbacks also will sell the Venom Dog — a footlong habanero sausage topped with black beans, guacamole, pico de gallo and sour cream. That dog will sell for $10.
