With the victory, the Crimson earned its third-straight outright Ivy League title, and just the fourth in program history, in addition to securing a third straight bid to the NCAA tournament. Harvard is the first team to guarantee itself a spot in the field of 68 teams this season.

The Ivy League is the only conference that does not hold a league tournament, which means the regular-season champion earns the automatic bid to the NCAA tournament. By beating Cornell and Columbia over the weekend, Harvard clinched at least a share of the title before winning it outright Friday.

Last March, No. 14-seeded Harvard upset third-seeded New Mexico in the opening round of the tournament before falling to Arizona in the round of 32.
