Hockey East announced its men’s hockey award winners for the 2013-14 season Thursday night, and the nation’s top scorer took home Player of the Year honors.
Boston College junior forward Johnny Gaudreau, who led Division I with 69 points (32 goals, 37 assists) in 37 games, claimed the award for the second straight year.
Gaudreau’s consistent offensive production, which includes a 31-game point streak, helped the Eagles lead the conference with 3.75 goals scored per game.
He’s also one of 10 finalists for the prestigious Hobey Baker Award.
Maine forward Devin Shore, Northeastern goaltender Clay Witt and Vermont forward Chris McCarthy were the other finalists.
Vermont forward Mario Puskarich won the Rookie of the Year award. He tallied 35 points (19 goals, 16 assists) in 36 games for the Catamounts.
Eagles bench boss Jerry York was named the Bob Kullen Coach of the Year award winner. His Eagles won the Hockey East regular-season title with a 26-7-4 record and were ranked in the top five of the national polls throughout the season.
Hockey East also announced its first and second All-Star teams.

The Hockey East conference tournament wraps up this weekend. The semifinals (UMass Lowell vs. Notre Dame, Providence vs. UNH) will be played Friday, and the championship game is Sunday. TD Garden is the venue for all three games, and they can be seen on NESN and NESNplus.
