The NFL increased its ban on celebratory props Tuesday, making dunking over or punching a goal post an unsportsmanlike-conduct penalty.
“Last year, we had an incident in one of the games where there was a dunk and the goal post was tilted and the game was shut down for about 25 minutes until they could get the goal post corrected,” St. Louis Rams coach and competition committee member Jeff Fisher told USA TODAY Sports. “And that’s unnecessary.”
Predictably, New Orleans Saints tight end Jimmy Graham wasn’t thrilled when he heard the news. It was Graham’s dunk that Fisher referenced, and it served as the main reason the NFL’s competition committee looked into the rule.
Graham took to Twitter to voice his humorous opinion on the matter.

Another well-known name athlete sided with Graham and NFL dunk enthusiasts. Luckily for him, however, he played in a league where dunking remains totally appropriate.
