Things got a little weird Thursday in the world of Norwegian professional hockey.
Erlend Lesund, a defenseman for Sparta Sarpsborg, turned Storhamar’s Eirik Skadsdammen into a very unwilling rodeo horse as Skadsdammen tried fruitlessly to regain his footing behind the net. Lesund stood over the downed skater throughout this sequence of events, trying — but not really trying — to get out of the way.
The scene was exactly as strange as it sounds.
