Phil Martelli’s 4-Year-Old Grandson Is Head Coach In Training (Video)

If Saint Joseph’s basketball coach Phil Martelli ever wants to take a day off, his 4-year-old grandson easily could take over the reins.

The youngster, Philip Stephen Martelli, was shown during Sunday’s Atlantic 10 championship game between the Hawks and VCU, and it became clear in an instant that he’s spent some time studying Grandpa’s moves on the sideline. Dressed in a suit and tie and watching the game from the stands, Philip mimics everything the head coach does.

When the coach crosses his arms, Philip crosses his. When the coach touches his face, Philip touches his. The little guy even has a whiteboard and marker to draw up his own plays.
