1394591235_ronTexas Rangers manager Ron Washington might have been ejected from a spring training game and fined two years ago, but it was MLB who ended up paying for it in the end.

In 2011, Washington was fined $200 when he was tossed out of a game following Adrian Beltre’s ejection. Washington responded in an awesome manner to the fine, though, shipping a box of 20,000 pennies to Bob Watson, MLB vice president in charge of discipline. The manager, after arguing a call this past week, recalled the hilarious incident, to Stefan Stevenson of the Fort-Worth Star Telegram:

Watson: “And you just had $200 in pennies hanging around? Washington: “Yes. Bob, I didn’t have my checkbook. I wasn’t trying to be funny. Now go to the bank and put that in the (change) machine and get your $200.”

Washington added that the shipping cost him $45, but we’re guessing he doesn’t regret that decision one bit.
