Thomas Vanek has been a Boston Bruins killer since joining the NHL as a Buffalo Sabre in 2005, so it’s no wonder they’d be interested in his services.

Vanek, who has 17 goals and 27 assists in 47 games with the New York Islanders this season, is on the trading block and likely packing his things before Wednesday’s 3 p.m. ET NHL trade deadline. While the Anaheim Ducks have been rumored to be high on the left winger, David Pagnotta reported Tuesday that the Bruins also are “aggressively pursuing” the 30-year-old Austrian.

Vanek has 61 points and a plus-21 rating in 53 career games against the Bruins. Vanek was traded to the Isles in October after eight-plus seasons in Buffalo.
