It’s becoming increasingly harder to believe that DeSean Jackson will play for the Philadelphia Eagles next season.
A source recently told Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News that the Eagles could release the 27-year-old wide receiver if a trade cannot be worked out.

One of the difficulties in acquiring Jackson via trade is his contract, which he isn’t open to restructuring, per Mehta.

While the talented receiver may not have the best attitude, there’s no denying he’s one of the better players at his position as a deep threat capable of stretching the field. That type of receiver is extremely valuable in today’s NFL.
Jackson caught 82 passes for a career-high 1,332 yards and nine touchdowns in 16 games last season. He’s tallied more than 950 receiving yards in four of the last five years.
A number of teams have inquired about Jackson, including the New England Patriots, New York Jets and San Francisco 49ers.
