kenny brittThe New England Patriots are hosting a talented but troubled wide receiver on Sunday.

Free agent wideout Kenny Britt will visit the Patriots, a source told NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport. The 6-foot-3, 223-pound Rutgers product has been arrested nine times since arriving in the league as the No. 30 overall pick in the 2009 NFL draft.

Britt had just 11 receptions for 96 yards with the Tennessee Titans in 2013. His best season came in 2010 when he caught 42 passes for 775 yards and nine touchdowns.

Britt was coached at Rutgers by Bill Belichick-friend and possible-Patriots-consultant Greg Schiano. There are five former Rutgers players on the Patriots’ roster.

Britt has shown flashes of potential in the NFL that have been interrupted by arrests, injuries and a suspension. If Britt was signed, he would be a high-upside and low-risk signing, since the Patriots likely wouldn’t be willing to give him a guaranteed contract.
