Dallas Stars winger Rich Peverley spoke at a news conference Wednesday to provide an update on his condition after he collapsed on the bench during Monday night’s game against the Columbus Blue Jackets.

The veteran forward thanked the doctors, trainers and everyone who helped him through the cardiac event that night.

“They all attended to me once I passed out and they saved my life, and I will forever be grateful,” Peverley said.

Peverley will undergo a heart procedure at the Cleveland Clinic, ending his season.
