Darrelle RevisDarrelle Revis had a difficult decision to make in free agency, and he chose winning over money.

The All-Pro cornerback said in his introductory conference call with the New England Patriots that he had 26 offers on the open market. Revis signed a one-year, $12 million contract with New England, and Patriots owner Robert Kraft said during the NFL annual meeting that the cornerback took a discount.

“(Revis) had a chance to go to any team and could’ve made more money,” Kraft said Monday. “But he chose us.”

Kraft said Revis took less money because he’s “committed to winning.”

Revis was earning $16 million per season before he was released by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. With a $12 million salary, he’s the highest-paid cornerback in the NFL.
