Letroy GuionThe New England Patriots are combing through available free agents to find depth along the defensive line.

The Patriots hosted free-agent defensive tackle Letroy Guion on a visit Tuesday, according to a source. Guion started 28 games with the Minnesota Vikings over the last two seasons.

Guion has five sacks and 90 tackles in six NFL seasons. He was drafted No. 152 overall by the Vikings out of Florida State in 2008.

Guion, 26, had one sack with one quarterback hit and five hurries, according to Pro Football Focus. He’s rated as a better run defender than pass rusher, according to PFF’s metrics.

New Patriots defensive assistant Brendan Daly served as Guion’s defensive line coach with the Vikings in 2012 and 2013.

Guion also is “considering” signing with the Green Bay Packers and Baltimore Ravens, the St. Paul Pioneer’s Chris Tomasson reported Friday.
