The Baltimore Ravens have agreed to terms with free-agent wide receiver Steve Smith, the team announced Friday.
Aaron Wilson of the Baltimore Sun reported the two sides reached a three-year deal, and that the New England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks also had interest in signing the veteran wideout.

The 34-year-old became a free agent earlier in the week when he was released by the Carolina Panthers, with whom he spent the first 13 years of his NFL career.
Smith said during a radio interview on Thursday that if he played the Panthers “there’s going to be blood and guts everywhere.”
He’s clearly upset with Carolina’s decision to release him, but he’ll get an opportunity for revenge when Baltimore hosts the Panthers in 2014. The date of this year’s Ravens-Panthers game hasn’t been announced yet.
Smith tallied 64 receptions for 745 yards and four touchdowns last season. The Patriots certainly remember Smith for his antics in the Panthers’ 24-20 win over the Pats in 2013.
