The nine-alarm fire that killed two Boston firefighters two weeks ago engulfed a building just four doors down from Tom Brady’s home on the 300 block of Beacon Street.
Brady mourned the loss of Lt. Edward Walsh and Firefighter Michael Kennedy through a statement on Facebook.
“On behalf of my entire family, I want to extend my deepest sympathies and condolences to the Boston Fire Department and the families of our brave and selfless firefighters who gave their lives for our protection and safety today, and to the entire firefighting community who protect us each and every day,” Brady wrote that night after the fire brokeout. “All of you will be in our thoughts and prayers.”
Brady watched the heroic first responders as they fought the blaze. The Boston Herald snapped a photo of the New England Patriots quarterback watching from his roof deck.

Brady recounted his firsthand view of the fire on WEEI’s “Dennis & Callahan.”
“As athletes, we think we’re heroes, but when you witness firsthand what I saw yesterday, you realize who the real heroes are,” Brady said the next morning.
Brady said he eventually left his home while the fire was still blazing with his wife, Gisele Bundchen, and his daughter.
